![]() Owner Name A legal entity. It is the name of the party that is applying to enter into a contract of domain registration with the Domain Registry. This legal entity will be the 'Registrant' of the domain. The legal entity can either be a living individual or a limited company. Other organisations and businesses can enter into binding contracts and the official name of such entities will have to go into this field. Owner Name (For ltd.uk or plc.uk) When choosing a ltd.uk or plc.uk domain, the domain has to match the Owner name exactly and must be a UK Ltd or UK plc company, as registered at Companies House in the UK. Thus for Cyberstrider Internet Services Limited, the domain names can only be cyberstriderinternetservices.ltd.uk or cyberstrider-internet-services.ltd.uk. You can not abbreviate the domain to cis.ltd.uk or c-i-s.ltd.uk Trading Name (and Pseudonyms) If the Registrant is using a trading name or a pseudonym, then it is important that we, and the Registry are aware of the legal entity behind the alias. The legal entity name goes into the 'Owner Name' field, and pseudonyms and trading names go into the Trading Name field. Note that if full legal information is not provided (for example, if you fill in a Trade Name of a Pseudonym in the 'Owner Name' field) then the contract of domain registration lacks certainty and is terminable. If the Registrant is a Partnership, then it is likely it uses a Trading Name. If it is a small Partnership consisting of two or three partners, then the names of the partners should be entered in the 'Owner Name' field and the Trading Name should be entered into the appropriate field. Trade Type Select the legal status of the 'Registrant' Company Number If the Registrant is a Ltd or plc company within the United Kingdom, then their official Company Registration Number (as at Companies House) needs to be entered in this field. You may double check the details at Companies House web site at http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk Please note that the legal details above need to be correct. Failure to provide the correct information will cause a rejection of your domain name application. Any manual 'fixes' or re-applications that we have to make are chargeable. The Company Number needs to be 8 numbers long. If your company is very old and the registration number is below 8 numbers, then fill out the number by preceeding it with zeros. For example, Cyberstrider Limited has company number 3735013. This is 7 numbers long. When ordering a domain, we would write this as 03735013 Contact Details for the Owner Street Address The first (and second, if applicable) lines of the Registrant's office address Town/City The Town and/or City of the Registrant's office State/County The County /State that the Registrant's office falls under The Registrant's Post Code. Note that if the Registrant's country is either United Kingdom, Great Britain, Isle of Man, Guernsey or Jersey, then the Post Code provided *must* appear in the Royal Mail Postal Address File. This can be checked at http://pol.royalmail.com/AF.asp Note that the domain name application will get rejected if the post code provided is invalid. In addition, for addresses that appear in this database, please ensure that the Post Code is supplied in the common usage format, with the first and second parts of the Post Code separated by a space - M60 2QN instead of M602QN. Do note that your registration will be rejected if you do not follow these guidelines. Any manual 'fixes' or re-applications that we have to make are chargeable.
